During the month of December, the neighborhood of Wadi Nisnas holds a festival celebrating the 3 major religious holidays at that time of the year: Channukah, Christman, and Ramadan. This year the festival was postponed a bit because of the fires, but by Christmas day, it was in full swing.

We started off at the Beit HaGefen Jewish-Arab community center. There was an antiques auction and members of the teen youth group Seeds of Peace were staffing different booths of children’s activities, including preserve your own olives and face-painting.

Then we walked over to the main street of Wadi Nisnas and joined the festive crush of people.

and art installations lining the streets…

and no Jewish Christmas would be complete without Chinese food…
