Yesterday I grabbed the camera to capture the interesting variety of trees and plants that live in our neighborhood. As I wrote to a friend yesterday, sometimes I can’t put into words why Haifa feels different, just that we feel like we are not in NY or anywhere in the US. But, physical differences certainly are clear – the plant life, the topography, the architecture.

We really appreciate that when we stepped off the plane we could tell we were someplace new. Don’t you hate when you travel, but you can’t tell you’ve gone anywhere because all of the strip malls are identical?

These were taken just in the 2 blocks from the entrance of our neighborhood to our apt. Wise landscaping to make this desert mountain feel lush.
